After some recent updates, if /etc/network/interfaces even exists,
network-manager borks. Even if there are only two lines inside:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ cat /etc/network/interfaces.foo
iface ath0 inet dhcp
iface eth1 inet dhcp

If this file exists, nm-tool reports no interfaces and network-manager
doesn't work.
