Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be an easy fix for this. I was hoping that we could simply enable Xapian's stemmer for the current locale so that words like "d'argent" would become "argent" etc. Maybe I just don't enough about French stemming, but the French stemmer in Xapian stems "d'argent" to "d'argent" so that doesn't give us much.
The solution could be to forego the locale-dependent stemming (like we already do) and add a custom stemmer that maps the pattern LETTER APOSTROPHE WORD to just WORD. I think this would solve this particular case, but could possibly break other languages (or other aspects of French?). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/746450 Title: Impossible to search word after apostrophe -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
