the launcher can be shown by holding the super key.
as for showing the launcher, left hand edge is too false-positive prone.
throwing the mouse to the top left is very learnable (see gnome shell also) and
we've found that users quickly adapt as soon as they discover it. we're doing
what we can to make sure we make it more discoverable, faster.
