Greetings Evan! Thanks for getting in touch with me! I am not the type to participate in bug reports but this is so important to me as linux has changed my life!
I would like to make sure I understand your directions correctly. Please tell me if this is correct: Fire up my netbook again, booting into the live blackbuntu usb pendrive, and start the install from there? or do I go ahead and let the live version boot up and then click on the install icon on the desktop. Keep in mind , this is blackbuntu. I should tell you of another symptom that may be help you diagnose the problem. During normal operation the OS will crash into a kernel screen (well, I don't know what to call it... its black w/ white text) stating something like: xor: automatically using best checksumming function: pIII_sse followed by a few other lines. I found this thread that report a similar (if not the same ) problem: http://board.blackbuntu.com/archive/index.php/thread-339.html i await your instruction , although I will go ahead and try booting into blackbuntu and running a terminal window : ubiquity -d while I am running the install. When I type sudo apport-collect 759285 , will that automatically upload the information to you or do I need to resend something? This time, press "Try > Ubuntu", open a terminal window and type `ubiquity -d`. Run the > installer until it crashes, and when it does, run `sudo apport-collect > 759285`. This will attach the rest of the needed log files to this bug. > > Thanks a bunch! > > ** Changed in: ubiquity (Ubuntu) > Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber > of the bug. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/759285 > > Title: > Blackbuntu Install Crashed on Samsung N210 > > Status in “ubiquity” package in Ubuntu: > Incomplete > > Bug description: > Binary package hint: ubiquity > > attaching /var/log/partman to this (should be the second message, if > the first one was submitted correctly) > > Greetings, I have a samsung n210 netbook with a windows 7 > parition and was installing Blackbuntu from a USB pen drive (a PNY > 8gig).
