Thanks for the bug report.
I can't reproduce it here, though. I have a system running in an OpenVZ
container, and the ip address is displaying correctly.
A few questions for you...
1) byobu -v #what version of byobu are you running?
2) ifconfig #what's the output of ifconfig?
3) sh -x /usr/lib/byobu/ip_address #can i see the full debug output of that
script?
