I've experienced this bug (originally reported as duplicate bug 762995)
on a Natty i386 system using a Unity desktop with software-center
3.1.26.4. As reported in that duplicate bug, this does not always occur
when I run the Software Center on this system. When it does not occur, I
instead see this text printed to the command-line (when I run the
Software Center from the Terminal)--I am not sure if these messages are
related to this bug, but I'm posting them just in case they are:

/usr/share/software-center/softwarecenter/app.py:1190: Warning:
g_object_set_qdata: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed
  self.window_main.show_all()
2011-04-16 14:33:36,869 - softwarecenter.fixme - WARNING - logs to the root

  gtk.main()
2011-04-16 14:33:50,203 - softwarecenter.app - INFO - software-center-agent

I also experience this bug on a Lubuntu Natty amd64 system (which I
created by installing the lubuntu-desktop package on a command-line only
system installed from a Natty amd64 Alternate Install CD), running a
Lubuntu Desktop session. On that system, this crash always occurs when I
attempt to run the Software Center, rendering the Software Center
totally unusable. I'll move to that system and post more details about
it shortly.
