This appears to be an issue with resolvconf: reassigning to the correct
package.
Could you please confirm that
/etc/resolvconf/run/interface/NetworkManager is written correctly with
the expected data, that /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf also is and that
/etc/resolv.conf is correctly a symlink to
/etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf?
You might also want to verify that neither files have special attributes set:
you can verify this with the lsattr command:
sudo lsattr /etc/resolv.conf
** Package changed: network-manager (Ubuntu) => resolvconf (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: resolvconf (Ubuntu)
