Hmm, by checking /var/log/daemon.log file, I see lines like:

Apr 17 15:28:35 oxygene NetworkManager[1076]: Ifupdown: get unmanaged
devices count: 0
Apr 17 15:28:35 oxygene NetworkManager[1076]: Error parsing file
'/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf': No such file or directory
Apr 17 15:28:35 oxygene NetworkManager[1076]: Error parsing file
'/etc/NetworkManager/nm-system-settings.conf': No such file or directory

The interesting part that those files really does not exist (only as
.dpkg-old and such) but another upgraded machine (to natty) have exactly
the same log messages, just it's not affected (I think) since it's not
DHCP based system, but "hard wired" IP settings (at least I think that
can be the reason). But btw, on that machine I _have_ file
/etc/resolvconf/run/interface/NetworkManager with the wanted content. So
maybe I am wrong with this guess ...
