Would you mind sticking a `set -x` on the second line of /usr/lib/ubiquity/migration- assistant/ma-ask and /usr/lib/ubiquity/migration-assistant/ma-apply, then running the install in debug mode (`ubiquity -d`from a terminal window). When it hangs, run `sudo apport-collect 767817`. If you could also run `ps auxf > ps-listing` and then attach the ps-listing file to this bug report, I'd appreciate it.
