HELLO FABIO, I TRIED DOING WHAT YOU SAID TO DO IT WORKED SOMEWHAT AND WAS ABLE TO MARK THE PACKAGE TO REMOVE IT AND RE-INSTALLED IT USING THE SYNAPTIC PACKAGE MANAGER. THE ERROR WENT AWAY AND WAS ABLE TO UPDATE PACKAGES.
