I confirm that I am having similar problems. I mention some things here: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=2486432#post2486432
Under Edgy, I experience random freezes and it appears that the JMicron controller has something to do with this according to you and some bug posts. However, my understanding is that Feisty fixes some/all of these problems? For the time being, I have decided to disable the JMicron stuff in BIOS and see how Edgy fares. The error messages do go away, but I have yet to see if I still experience crashing. Earlier, I tried installing Feisty to see if it remedied the problem. No luck. I am not able to even reach the installation. I get an error message like the one in the appended image (some of the numbers may have been different before i disabled jmicron in bios). ** Attachment added: "IMG_5955.JPG" http://librarian.launchpad.net/7356501/IMG_5955.JPG -- boot - /bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/96084 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
