The same thing is happening to me - an occasional crash with a very
similar entry in kern.log.

compiz[2700]: segfault at b3eef000 ip 051446ef sp bfb4c16c error 4 in
fglrx_dri.so[39b5000+1c23000]

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc R600 [Radeon HD
2900 Series]

It's a dual-head setup, similar to the previous crash.
I first noticed this occasional crashing after replacing a smaller monitor with
a widescreen one. Possibly a widescreen related crash, or a crash with a very
large combined desktop?
Please let me know if I can provide you with any additional information.

Is switching away from fglrx recommended in this case?
