SAMSUNG HD204UI ATA Device (hdd) and chipset is AMD 780G southbridge SB700
When i boot into ubuntu i get "scsi device /dev/sdaX too slow, dropping to
1.5gb" or close to that error, a few lines scroll, then a hard lock. fsck comes
back clean on the partition. if i soft reset (ctrl-alt-del or reset switch) my
drive won't POST. If i power off the machine completely and power it back on,
it will POST and boot into windows (the first partition). I tried to ask about
this in #ubuntu but they said it was impossible that ubuntu was causing the
drive to not POST.

if someone wants to tell me how to get those "too slow" messages onto a
pastebin, i'm more than willing to troubleshoot/test patches; i can't
log in to ubuntu on my computer as it stands right now.

Natty 11.04, btw. 2 TB HDD partitioned 1TB NTFS and 1TB linux. windows
partition boots fine after hard power reset, as mentioned.
