I can confirm this on an Intel chipset. I have two laptops - a Sony Vaio with an Nvidia card, and a Dell Vostro V13 with an Intel card. Screensaver works perfectly fine on the nvidia system, and not once has a freeze happened. The freezes were happening every time with the Intel one, until I disabled the screensaver.
I can also confirm this with both 32-bit and 64-bit Natty Narwhal. I had 32-bit Natty on both systems, and I replaced them with 64-bit Natty on both. The nvidia works fine without freezes, while on the other one I haven't yet tried enabling the screensaver. I do not think it has anything to do with a video application or banshee or whatever, since it has happened with me plenty of times when I have not been using anything other than emacs and evince. It definitely seems to be related to the xorg-xserver-video-intel driver. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/762918 Title: Natty Screensaver freezes system after some period of inactivity -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
