I am having the same problem of course. All of the tests say it should be
working, the unity support test is all green, the output of grep drv\.so
/var/log/Xorg.0.log

and the output of sudo lshw -C display:

I have an nvidia GT240 video card and a GeForce6100PM-M2 motherboard.

Jocky has the activated but not in use message of course, and 3d games
are very iffy, sometimes working, sometimes not. The glxgears thing
reports high framerates but the gears barely move, and are very jerky
when they do. Also a lot of apps are slower in 11.04 than they were in
10.10 and 10.4.

A new piece of information i have not seen here so far: One of the 3d
games i regularly play started acting very unstable and crashing on
startup a few weeks before 11.04 went to full release after a rather
substantial update (i check for updates every day so it was not a
buildup) that included kernel updates of some kind i believe and
something with X (i wish there was a way to check back to look up
exactly what is included in each update, at the time it all seemed
reasonable and it was not until later that i thought it may have been
the cause and by that time i forgot the exact details of it, including
the day it came out except in a general sense) so it seems that it was
probably something in that update that is causing the problem. The
problem definitely did not exist in the alpha versions and beta versions
up until the last few weeks before the mainline release.
