Could you please give a try to just clearing the username and password,
if you haven't already tried that, and keeping the "new" APN of
ppbundle.internet?

The problem is this was changed fairly recently upstream, and there must
be a reason for the change; I'm trying out what it was (what piece of
information or bug report).
