Hello, I did the steps adding 'acpi_backlight=vendor' to the kernel boot parameters, and ran 'sudo update-grub' and restarted. And actually, it works to quite some extent. The problem is not entirely gone, but it is MUCH better. Thanks for the link. I don't know what I'm supposed to do on the next steps, it was very confusing. As you now may know, I am a complete GNU/Linux newbie. :)
