Hi Brendan, Sorry for not being very easy to follow, I was trying myself to figure out what is going on, so I discovered different things when I was playing more with SMPlayer in full screen and normal window. As I am not native English speaker, I guess I'm not very clear in my explanation :D
I have uploaded a set of images, I hope I can explain it better now as I might have targeted the real bug. The movie size seems to be larger that the screen, so I think the top part is going somehow under the Unity top bar, that might have been why I thought the top bar is missing (will play more with it). Meanwhile, I found something else: as I was repeated the going to full screen and exiting the full screen, I could see that the window is moving up when I was exiting full screen.
