Hello,

I solved this issue shortly after submitting the bug report. It was a "noob"
error - the host operating system (OSX) had the sound muted,
so there was no sound in the VM (ubuntu), even with all the correct settings
and the volume turned to full.

Apologies if time was spent on this. I tried to delete the bug from the
system myself, but couldn't see a way to do this.
