Well, a workaround is to upgrade to the kernel that matches the release
you're running. :)

I had avoided doing that because the natty kernel brings significantly
increased power consumption on my laptop.  If that's not a concern for
you (or doesn't affect your hardware), you should definitely be running
the natty kernel.
