Can you explain where the 800 MB number comes from? The kernel is
detecting more than 800 MB, and from the question you linked to it looks
like free is also reporting more memory. Note that you'll never see 100%
of your RAM being used by Linux, there's always at least some amount
that gets reserved by the bios.

Please also attach the output of 'cat /proc/meminfo', this will give a
more complete picture of the memory situation on your system.
