The command line captured in the initial posting:
/usr/lib/cups/driver/openprinting-ppds cat openprinting-
ppds:0/Brother/BR5270_2_GPL.ppd
works perfectly for me. Probably the crash is caused by insufficient
disk space or a damaged file system. Please check ths state of your
disks, then try again. Does it work now?
