Ceph is already building their own packages for Ubutu Oneiric, they can
be found at: http://ceph.newdream.net/debian

So I would like to request a FreezeException for Ceph for the upcoming
11.10 release.

The current included version of Ceph is 0.27, that is an outdated
version which will not work seamlessly with the kernel client included
in the kernel of 11.10 (3.0). The current version of Ceph (0.34) works
much better with the 3.0 kernel.

By upgrading the included packages in 11.10 to a descent version we (the
Ceph project) would like to have a even better version of Ceph included
in 12.04, which is going to be a new LTS.

The impact is minimal, upgrading from 0.27 to 0.34 goes pretty smooth,
but Ceph is still under development, so users get the best experience
possible by using the latest version.

All other component needed by Ceph (like btrfs) are already included in
Ubuntu, so I don't see any obstacles including 0.34 in 11.10.
