I figured out the whole problem with this... and someone may have already known the problem, but here is the solution... /usr/share/applications/ is missing the lmms.desktop file If someone has the same problem have them open the terminal type gksu gedit
then add this [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Name=LMMS Comment=Drum sequencer with multiple plugin and midi capabilities Exec=lmms Terminal=false Type=Application Categories=Application;AudioVideo;Audio Icon=lmms and save as lmms.desktop Whoever is moderating this, please get this file where it needs to go if it is possible.
