I've tried Ubuntu Dapper, Edgy and Feisty on my dc7700p, and nothing really works. The OS eventually installs, but I get the following: * the OS takes up to 15 minutes to boot * weird graphics artifacts during boot * the primary NIC fails to load * load messages that indicate 'load essential drivers FAIL' * messages that the HAL has failed to load (!) * both CPUs are at full capacity most of the time, so the systems is dog-slow (hence 15-minute boot time) * opening applications eventually times out (possibly CPU too busy)
In general, the system is not really usable. I have tried a few kernel boot options, mentioned below, but nothing works... http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=1081719&admit=-682735245+1178319904296+28353475 http://uk.theinquirer.net/?article=37136 boooooo!!!!!! -- Ubuntu install CD does not boot correctly on HP dc7700p https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80613 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
