Thanks for the bug report.

We could really use more information to be able to reproduce this bug.  It 
looks like upstart failed to stop mysqld, are you able to start, stop and 
restart mysqld to test it's usage?
$ sudo stop mysql
$ sudo start mysql
$ sudo restart mysql
