Hi Russ - 
Thanks for the help - I tried upgrading with the Ubuntu patched version as you 
recommended, but my system appears to also need a libc6 >=1.12, and only 1.11 
is offered through the 10.04 Ubuntu release.  I've read a couple of horror 
stories on line about people hacking upgrades to libc6 - is there a page you 
can point me to in order to upgrade both openafs and libc6 properly on my 
kernel upgraded 10.04?  Ive had a lot of trouble finding a good solution.
