I ran Update to make sure my system was up to date. I rebooted my machine and
tested to see if the bug was occurring.
It was so I opened a terminal and ran unity --reset as you requested. Unity
reset and the launcher was shown. However; it had changed from `auto hide` to
`dodge window` I rebooted again to see if the bug would reoccur. The launcher
correctly opened and operated with the `dodge window` setting. I changed the
launcher setting to `auto hide` and rebooted again and the launcher behaved
correctly. I will keep an eye on it to see if it occurs again.

When I ran the unity --reset command in the terminal several errors were
reported. I pasted them into a text file and will attach it to this bug
report. After running the unity --reset command in the terminal; the
terminal never returned to the command prompt. Is this expected?
