I ran Update to make sure my system was up to date. I rebooted my machine and tested to see if the bug was occurring. It was so I opened a terminal and ran unity --reset as you requested. Unity reset and the launcher was shown. However; it had changed from `auto hide` to `dodge window` I rebooted again to see if the bug would reoccur. The launcher correctly opened and operated with the `dodge window` setting. I changed the launcher setting to `auto hide` and rebooted again and the launcher behaved correctly. I will keep an eye on it to see if it occurs again.
When I ran the unity --reset command in the terminal several errors were reported. I pasted them into a text file and will attach it to this bug report. After running the unity --reset command in the terminal; the terminal never returned to the command prompt. Is this expected? ** Attachment added: "terminal output from running unity --reset" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/857375/+attachment/2454613/+files/unityreset.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/857375 Title: unity launcher does not display after login To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/857375/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
