Update 2: Opening a terminal and entering 'xset -dpms' will prevent this bug from happening as a temporary workaround, but this then caused Ubuntu to stay on the login page when you try to shut down, so you have to log back in and shut down from a terminal. Also you have to re-enter this command each time you boot the computer.
Similar bugs are #262139, #851520, #859396 and gnome-bugs #660482. Some of these are marked as low priority, but i think watching media is very important for Ubuntu (youtube/iplayer etc). Was thinking i would have to move back to 11.04 or Kubuntu (but not Arch!) until this is fixed, But i really like 11.10 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/859351 Title: Screensaver activates regardless of set timeout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/859351/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
