Having notify-osd installed causes it to block gnome-shell's notifications, instead making them appear using notify-osd's style. For instance, running notify_server_get_caps() would presumably get the capabilities of notify-osd, and thus apps will not allow for persistent notifications, which is disappointing. It also led to a bug that I've noticed, where both notification servers are working at the same time, and thus causing notifications to appear on both the bottom and upper left of the screen. Without uninstalling notify-osd I don't really see how this can be avoided.
Unless you can find a way to disable notify-osd but keep it installed, it's going to significantly impair the gnome-shell experience. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/830467 Title: Packaging: gnome-shell should be marked as Provides: notification- daemon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/830467/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
