Hi Guys here is the first go at getting the iP1800 printer to work for
you.

This is a multi-Architecture installation so both 32 and 64 bit systems should 
work.
I do not have this printer so I will need you to test this.  

Here is the installation script :
wget http://downloads.bkintegration.com/canon/canon-printing.sh

Has to be made executable :
chmod +x canon-printing.sh

also has to be run as root, sudo is fine.
sudo canon-printing.sh

The operation for this install are as follows  --

1 - purge old installation files
2 - get files 
3 - update base packages for printer 
4 - install canon debs that have been modified
5 - place PPD 

there is a log file that is created in a directory at /canon-
install.logs/

I have installed this several times on a few different machines, there
was never an error, but like I said I don't have the  iP1800 to test.
Let me know if it works... I have high hopes!
