Hi Guys here is the first go at getting the iP1800 printer to work for you.
This is a multi-Architecture installation so both 32 and 64 bit systems should work. I do not have this printer so I will need you to test this. Here is the installation script : wget http://downloads.bkintegration.com/canon/canon-printing.sh Has to be made executable : chmod +x canon-printing.sh also has to be run as root, sudo is fine. sudo canon-printing.sh The operation for this install are as follows -- 1 - purge old installation files 2 - get files 3 - update base packages for printer 4 - install canon debs that have been modified 5 - place PPD there is a log file that is created in a directory at /canon- install.logs/ I have installed this several times on a few different machines, there was never an error, but like I said I don't have the iP1800 to test. Let me know if it works... I have high hopes! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/773895 Title: Canon printer with Canon's closed-source driver stops working after upgrading Ubuntu from 10.10 to 11.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups/+bug/773895/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
