As I described in bug 785571, we follow the Gnome HIG, except for its
mistakes. :-)
All the items in the device menu seem correct to me. "Printers"
functions similar to a folder, like "Documents" or "Downloads", which is
why it doesn't have an ellipsis. The most questionable item is perhaps
"Software Up to Date" -- it's not obviously a command of any sort, so
whether it should have an ellipsis or not is borderline unanswerable.
But even if the settings, software update, and device entries were
removed, "Log Out…", "Restart…", and "Shut Down…" should still have an
ellipsis, while "Lock Screen", "Suspend", and (at least while it
requires no confirmation) "Hibernate" should not. So there would be no
getting around some of the items having an ellipsis and others not. For
that reason, I'm marking this Invalid. But thanks for being so
observant.
