I am getting the same behavior using a Lucid installation with all the
updates - pdftops processes that use lots of resources and never end,
nothing coming out of the printer. I have tried two different printers
and get the same behavior. These printers worked fine a week or two
ago, so this must be due to a recent update (I haven't manually changed
anything to do with printer configuration in months).
Interestingly, this problem appears only with certain documents. For
example, I have a pdf generated from a microsoft word document that has
a watermark on every page. This document cannot be printed, but same
thing without watermark and it works fine. Printing a test page works
fine.
