@ huizache - yeah, as this is a 3D problem, I suspected that only an updated Mesa was needed. Mesa is included in xorg-edgers fresh X crack.
However there are some performance improvements for your R500 hardware in the more recent kernels. The 2.6.36 Kernel implements R300/500 Hyper-Z support and the 2.6.38 kernel implements KMS page-flipping. To take advantage of this page-flipping support you also need version 6.14.0 or later of the xf86-video-ati driver, but that should already be in xorg-edgers. Something to look forward to is the R500 Texture Semaphores support which has just been merged to Mesa master. This will be part of Mesa 7.12/8.0, and will probably be added to xorg-edgers soon.
