After this, I tried the Alternate Install CD but had the same problem. I already had grub installed because I had an install of Edgy in another partition, so I re-ran alternate install and told it not to install any boot loader.
Then I tried to add the new install of Feisty to the existing grub, and got some errors reported. The problem there was that the partition was still marked as being type "NTFS", even though the installer had re-formatted it to EXT3. I used fdisk to correct the type code, and grub worked. I suspect this may have been the same reason that the installer failed above. -- Kubuntu 7.04 install fails when setting up Grub https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/110292 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
