Congratulations on the release of the final Ubuntu 11.10
That said, this regression still persists. It still will not use 3D
acceleration (compiz) under VirtualBox.
In additional I also tried "VMWare Player 4" with identical results.
Unfortunately I'm unfamiliar with the underlying mechanisms to
investigate it much farther than what I provided above. However it had
worked just fine in Ubuntu 11.04 - which means that some recent change
has introduced that regression.
I'd appreciate it if one of the 3D Unity desktop maintainers could look
into it.
