Then - maybe - the attached patches are a little bit out of date, aren't
they?

If you want to check, take a look, and see if the current cryptroot script 
tries to find the device multiple times
using a loop (the patch has only 3 lines of code, should be pretty obvious, 
what it does, right?)

If current Ubuntu doesn't have that problem, you might still want to apply this 
patch to 8.04 - might still help
some people out there... or well ... maybe it doesn't since it is over two 
years old...
