Hi,
The problem here is that according to BIOS, you don't have an internal mic on
your internal sound card. It might be that the microphone is connected to the
webcam in this case, looking at the way things are presented here:
http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/L740/L745D-S4220RD/ that
might be the case here. If so, trying different models will not help.
Could you attach the output of "lsusb -v" to help us determine that? Thanks.
