** Tags added: apport-collected running-unity

** Description changed:

On a MacBookPro8,2, the track pad does not respond properly. Single
clicks are nearly always interpreted as double clicks and it is not
possible to 'click-and-drag'. Perhaps the second problem is tied to the
  first.

The expected behavior is that if the trackpad is tapped once, then the
machine interprets it as a single click not a double click.
