The problem is still there in Kubuntu 11.10, Thunderbird 7.0.1: the .parentlock is never deleted when exiting thunderbird, though no thunderbird process is pending... this does not prevent to start thunderbird again, but it looks like a bug, which, I think, might prevent other things to work correctly?
