* I have upgraded through several versions were this problems is present (persist).
* I have manually removed all compiz settings files (e.g., when 3d unity crashes) removed all compiz libs with apt and reset/rebuilt compiz - at various dates/releases. * I have enabled transparency at some versions. Though deleted settings (etc operations) between releases. Very unlikely to relate to upgrades - if the problem is in compiz. Unlikely to relate only to transparency settings since I have reset unity and compiz completely at times - after upgrades.
