Hello dave, as you have noticed; I did have also problems with my
sound-cards in the past. Now my card did not do anything any more with
pasting the line; *options snd_hda_intel model=6stack-hp *in
*/etc/modeprobe.d/alsa-base.conf.
*I all ready succeeded yesterday in* *killing my motherboard card* *and I
have pasted/tried now all the lines out of the alsa list for the ALC888
chip. With most of the Aser lines(4930, 6530, 7730, 8930) my card do give
sounds now; but both out of the speakers, as also out of the headphones. My
headphones seems to be functined as the front speakers and my real front
speakers as the back speakers. So the big list of lines for the ALC888 chip
seams to be still not big enouth? ;-))* *I hope that you can do something
with this info for me?? See you, ludger*
