Hi. er I updated to Oneric on my desktop and this (maverick) was my laptop, which now only has vista home prem on it. Oneric has been a huge disappointment .. aside from 'jackd'* not working on my setup and my gigabit ethernet (realtek) also not working, the 'feel' changed from the beta 2.. I have no idea *how* it changed but it just did. before on the Oneric beta 2, as i have said elsewhere.. it 'felt' like a Mac, it was amazing! speed like back in the good old 10.04 days, i'm not saying it was instant but when it happened it felt 'good' ..like a mac, the new login is superb I really like it, however I have a heavy duty PC (no bragging here, 4 core, 16gb of DDR3 etc) and Oneric still lets me 'count time' to coin a phrase, before it does what I have told it to do.*
My comp is called TuxBox, but y'know I am usually in Win7 on it, and that's a shame :( because I love Ubuntu.. but somethings went wrong. peace. *so no Rakarrak. GB for Linux. I have ubuntu studio just now but it was the same with standard Ubuntu. *context menus, file folders, system menus/utilities, programs, browsing, unity bar, which fyi still has the 'desktop click' bug i reported months ago during the beta 1 even on a fresh and different PC. 10.04 was probably not the fastest Ubuntu, i was just guessing ..BUT 10.04 was the meeting of these three into one, Robustness, Speed and Compatibility.. this is why possibly it will be liked for years :) .. yeah i still dig unity though, it's a cool desktop :D -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/846114 Title: Unity bug. but similar worse gnome one also.
