Syslog shows the OOM killer reaping upstart-udev-bridge. I think there have been some memory leaks in that process seen recently; don't remember if those were fixed in the Ubuntu package or just in 1.4 upstream (or if I just made up the whole thing). Reassigning the bug to upstart, anyway.
