Public bug reported:

I have no sound at all.

Doing the following makes sound work... however I have no control over
the sound volumes per applications (except the overall sound using
alsamixer - which is a pain):

killall pulseaudio
pulseaudio --kill
alsa force-reload

After doing those, sound works! So clearly there isn't any issues with
alsa, problem seems to exist in pulseaudio somehow... yet it was working
perfectly fine a few months ago. I recently downgraded to
"1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21" because I thought
"1:0.9.22~0.9.21+stable-queue-32-g8478-0ubuntu21.1" was what caused the
issues... but still no joy. Any ideas?

Is there a way to be able to revert settings somehow (without having to
reinstall the whole O/S)?
