I have a similar issue with windows installed. A few key distinctions: 1) I've noticed that the machine does not resume from sleep only after moving it while it is asleep, but not every time I move it... only intermittently. But I can open and close the lid, resuming from sleep, all I want if the computer sits at my desk. 2) The problem also occurs whether or not the AC adapter is plugged in or not.
