** Description changed: About 1 month after installation of Ubuntu 11.04 ( around end may 2011) my network failed to start. Found later that after 5-10 minutes the network was running automatically! Because my on-board was defect, I had installed a Gigabit Netword Card (Sweex) and disabled it in the Bios. This was a half year earlier. Trying to install Ubuntu 11.10 I had the problem also with the Live CD (all versions of ubuntu and even OpenSuse). My conclusion: kernel problem. In order to debug further I bought a second Gigabit card: no success. But installing a 10/100 Network card solved the problem. This delayed activation I do not understand, but is not all to hard to solve I think. The problem is solid as a rock. Hope you can reproduce the problem. + --- + AlsaVersion: Advanced Linux Sound Architecture Driver Version 1.0.21. + Architecture: i386 + AudioDevicesInUse: + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC1: pieter 1384 F.... pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: pieter 1384 F.... pulseaudio + CRDA: Error: [Errno 2] Bestand of map bestaat niet + Card0.Amixer.info: + Card hw:0 'V8237'/'VIA 8237 with AD1980 at 0x1000, irq 22' + Mixer name : 'Analog Devices AD1980' + Components : 'AC97a:41445370' + Controls : 53 + Simple ctrls : 35 + Card1.Amixer.info: + Card hw:1 'Live'/'SB Live!
