Today I have downloaded a daily build of Ubuntu 12.04 and tried it in a Live session (booted from an USB pen). In this case all worked well. No problems with Dash, HUD, and keyboard shortcuts over a white background. At this point I believe that the problems I have described here, are related only to my Virtualbox. I mean that it's only with Ubuntu 12.04 running in a Virtualbox that I have these issues. I think that in a Virtualbox no "really" graphic drivers are used, so this bug report can be closed.
