@Gorgonzola "Besides that particular problem, there are people reporting issues with third party drivers, X server not loading and wireless cards failing to work. Please bear in mind that these issues are all related to modified kernel modules, and DO NOT apply to the kernel itself." My system hangs apparently while loading X server. Since I have installed everything from the Ubuntu repositories that should be correctly handled by the 'linux-restricted-modules-2.6.20-16-generic' package. It was NOT.
