I really had a lot of discussions, read a lot of threads and pro and
contra Windows-Linux.

My conclusions:
- Windows is less secure (viruses, time to fix issues after they got
discovered, architecture)
- Windows is less reliable regarding stability (for Ubuntu if you have
chosen the right hardware it works, for Windows - although everybody
is developing drivers for it - there are still problems with drivers
now and then but the most stability problems are from the software in
the way that software A is ruining software B and vice versa.
- I can't customize Windows as I want my computer to work. People have
different jobs and different style to work - and different focus.
Hence there are different requirements. Windows is simply not that
flexible.

That were the major reasons for me to switch - and it was a hard step
for me - not only because it was the first time in my history that I
had a system I could not program.

Best regards, Martin.
